Parentline Plus provides a free 24 hour confidential helpline to parents staffed by trained volunteers. We offer information and support and the chance to talk through the issues facing parents. In our eleven local offices we run outreach sessions and parenting courses and workshops. We were formed in 1999 from the merger of three long established charities and a number of small local charities.
Our Parenting Fund project in the North West will target parents in the Merseyside area who face challenges and are less well served by parenting services. This includes parents of children with anti-social behaviour, families experiencing a high level of conflict, BME parents, parents of children with special needs and parents of children who are frequent truants.
We will provide intensive outreach work and an informal drop-in service. Parents will use the drop-in service to find out more about services available while giving us an opportunity to get feedback that we can use to better adapt our service to their needs.
We are using the funding to set up an office in the Pre-school Equipment Resource Centre and to employ a Development and Outreach worker, a Service Coordinator, and 8-10 parent facilitators.
