Established in 1994, ask is a Wiltshire based charity providing advice on services for kids and young people (ask).

We will use the Parenting Fund grant to deliver a pilot parenting programme via the Internet, in Wiltshire, then roll out the service to the whole South West Region. This will be a sustainable service that meets the needs of parents for parenting education not just across the region, but will provide a template for work with parents nationally through the Internet.

We will use a number of web technologies to build a website that is truly responsive to parents' needs. Over the years, it will change and develop, in response to those needs. It will contain parenting programme material supported by the use of interactive videos. Parents will have the opportunity to log on at their own convenience and use the programme individually at their own pace, or as part of their local parenting course.

The plan is for parents to use the site over a period of time enabling them to put their learning into practice before moving on to other modules. We will develop on-line video examples of parenting to give people the opportunity to develop skills in a non-threatening environment.
