SAFC Foundation's primary aims are to: Increase access and participation to positive activity, Inspire young people to achieve and raise aspirations and Contribute to safe, healthy and regenerated communities.
Family Learning through Football will:
- Engage the most hard to reach families using football and the brand as the motivator
- Encourage males to become a positive role model for their children
- Encourages parents to gain confidence in their own ability to learn, and support their child
- Act as a key precursor to raising the achievement levels of children
- Improve motivation, build self-esteem and help both children and adults to become effective learners
- Provide opportunities for children to help their parents, and in these ways it enhances and enriches family life
- Promote lifelong learning and intergenerational activity.
The grant will be spent on delivering 21 family learning programmers to 200 plus families per annum. It will be used to develop the infrastructure to cope with this target, provide guidance and signposting to families, develop appropriate learning materials and deliver celebration, holiday events and fun days. It will also develop graduates, trainees and volunteers in supporting the delivery of family learning.
