Race Equality Foundation will work with voluntary and community organisations to deliver the evidenced based parenting programme Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities. We will engage at least 180 parents each year of the project.

We will provide access to training, expert supervision to agencies in programme delivery, pump-priming money to begin delivery and help in preparing the infrastructure of local voluntary and community organisation for local commissioning. To ensure all parents receive the best experience we will implement our structured QA system and support facilitators to implement the National Occupational Standards.

Two over-lapping priority areas will be pursued Birmingham. First, REF will extend the reach of SFSC. Engaging the least well served, particularly Asian communities, parents with learning disabilities and lone parents. Second in selecting agencies we will support in delivery, we will target those supporting fathers in playing an active role in the development of their children.
