Parentline Plus recognised as the largest independent provider of parent support in England, Parentline Plus reaches about 500,000 parents and carers each year with direct services, and covers all of England and Wales.
- We aim to support parents to help their children to succeed and achieve
- We understand that it is not possible to separate children's needs from the needs of their parents and carers
- We work to recognise and value the different types of families that exist, and to shape and expand the services available to them
- We work towards preventing children being neglected and harmed, improving adult relationships and the emotional health of the whole family, promoting positive behaviour and enabling parents to support their children to make the most of their education and their community.
We provide flexible, responsive, universal services:

- Face to face groups, workshops and individual support

Offenders, ex-Offenders and Families Project
Increase the quality of family relationships and achieve better outcomes for children through –
- Improved communication in families
- Increased self-esteem in parents and children
- Increased self awareness, emotional intelligence and literacy in parents/carers and children
- Parents/carers increased confidence in handling challenging child behaviour and domestic conflict and anger management
- Increase the opportunities for young people to achieve and contribute
- Reduced anti-social behaviour.
We will work with -
- Parents/carers who are offenders/ ex-offenders, and their partners
- Parents/carers whose children are young offenders
- Including non-resident parents to help them develop positive co-parenting behaviours.
Through -
- Delivering courses/workshops in Durham Prison and later this year in Low Newton Women's Prison
- Working with partners & child carers of offenders in prison visitors centres
- Working with Probation Service, Frequent and Prolific Offenders Unit, DIP & staff from Ncle City Council through Child Poverty FIP, Think Family with Extended Schools and Children's Centres to access parents through community venues.
In Year 1 we aim to provide a service to 699 unique parents and to 520 non-unique parents through providing a progression route through our flexible range of services. Total 1,219 parents and carers.
In Year 2 we plan to provide a service to 735 unique parents and to a further 450 non-unique parents totalling 1,183 parents and carers.
