Aim of Organisation
Nacro works to prevent crime by:
1. Promoting the resettlement of offenders in the community
2. Providing a range of practical services and activities for individuals (and their families) caught up in the criminal justice process
3. Providing services to those at risk of offending
4. Developing and delivering services to communities who are suffering from the effects of crime and disadvantage.
The Osmaston Family Project delivers services under aims 3 and 4.
Title and Aim of Project
Handling Teenage Behaviour Parenting Programme
The aim of the project is to provide a Handling Teenage Behaviour Parenting Programme. The course offers a structured yet flexaible approach in exploring issues that can affect behaviour and relationships between parents/carers and young people.
Benificeries
Whilst parents can self refer, the core target group of people referred for and taking up this provision are parents and carers of:
- Young people truanting from school resulting in referrals to Derby Education Welfare Service
- Young people displaying offending and/or anti-social behaviour
- Young people where there appears to be a severe breakdown in communication at home resulting in relationships within the home breaking down and this having a severe negative impact on other areas of their life.
- We aim to offer the course to an average 15 participants per course (90 individuals offer 2 years)
