LOOK links families of children with a visual impairment across the country. We provide emotional support, information on visual impairment, a connecting service, events, a magazine and website with an online parent forum and a youth project called OutLOOK. LOOK assists parents of children with a visual impairment to set up their own peer support groups.
The LOOK Norfolk Family Engagement Project aims to provide targeted support for 'hard to reach' families with children who have sight impairment and are at risk of social exclusion from mainstream service providers within Norfolk. Co-ordinate and negotiate individualised family support packages through support and signposting. Provide group support through event management in collaboration with local partners and families. To integrate families into existing consultation groups and to initiate LOOK peer support group within Norfolk.
The project will seek to increase its current support from 30 families per annum to work with 100-150 families per annum through localised support.
