The aim of PSS is to provide innovative social care and support. Our 'PND Project' is an innovative peripatetic service that works along side children's centres to provide outreach support for mums and families affected by Post Natal Depression.

We offer an initial assessment to mums referred to our service via GP's health visitors and others usingĀ  a psychosocial person centred approach. We take a baseline measure of symptoms using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale in order to compare results once our intervention is complete. We do not use this to diagnose. Our work is one to one support for mums and families including enhanced listening, at home play sessions and support to access community services . We also offer facilitated support groupsĀ  based in community settings including local children's centres. We also offer PND awareness raising sessions for families and health professionals alike. we have a good knowledge of local resources and help families to access these where appropriate.

All staff have a recognised professional qualification.
