Campaign for learning
The Campaign for Learning is working for a society where learning is at the heart of the social inclusion. The Campaign's objectives are to develop successful and fulfilled individuals and vibrant, inclusive communities through campaigning and lobbying; to expand and share knowledge about learning and link policy to practice; and to provide resources, training and networks to support practitioners and champions to engage and empower learners. Our main areas of work are Family and community learning, workplace learning and learning policy.
Project Summary
Best Coach Dads at Work
The project: will enable VCS organisations (VCSOs) and Local Authorities to engage fathers in the workplace in supporting their children's learning and development through the use of innovative learning materials; and increase awareness and access of local parenting and family services by fathers. The target group will be fathers in the workplace, who are in low-paid employment and do not access support from children's services. The project will train 15 VCSOs that are delivering family services in Birmingham to deliver Family Learning to Learn sessions with fathers; and intensively support the VCSOs to reach 300 fathers in 30 workplaces. 100 practitioners will be trained in the second year, and a toolkit will be developed and disseminated.
