Our project will place counsellors and trainers in Children's Centres and Extended Schools, to provide a range of parenting support services. We are offering the following services:
- Counselling services for parents (individuals and couples) who have relationship problems and are seeking to find ways of avoiding relationship breakdown and to manage the impact of their problems on children
- Counselling services for parents (individuals or couples) whose relationship has broken down and are struggling to cope with what has happened and to manage impact on children
- Counselling services for parents (individuals or couples) who are struggling to cope with other significant challenges such as disability, ill health, mental health problems, family conflict, problems associated with ethnicity, blended families, etc
- Family counselling services for any of the above groups where the behaviour of one member of the family (adult or child) is impacting on other members. Such counselling can involve some or all members of the family group over time
- Group sessions for parents experiencing problems
- Relationship education and training courses for parents and children
- Peer mentoring courses for parents and children
- Counselling for young people reinforcing work done with parents to improve parent./child relationships or where the young person is experiencing significant challenges as a result of family circumstances/conflict.
