We are training local organisations to deliver the Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities parent programme. This will involve:
- Training at least 30 individuals from 15 organisations to deliver SFSC to parents;
- Providing additional training to at least 35 individuals from at least 16 organisations on the practicalities of recruiting and retaining parents on a programme.
In addition we are:
- Providing expert advice and information in the implementation of SFSC, including additional training in co-facilitation and groupwork;
- Providing intensive support and supervision to at least 35 voluntary organisations, including implementing the quality assurance system;
- Providing financial and practical support to organisations to pump prime the delivery of at least 23 SFSC programmes; and
- Developing peer support groups in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham.
Finally, we will engage with the education, health and social care organisations to mainstream good practice and promote sustainable support for the infrastructure that we have developed. This will include:
- Attending meetings of Parenting Strategy Groups in the three authorities;
- Participating in eight events to publicise this work;
- Organising two network and dissemination events.
