We are providing a comprehensive service that benefits Fathers, Young Men & Boys of Nottingham with a particular focus on those from the African-Caribbean community. The project seeks to educate, motivate, challenge, support and mentor, individuals of the group into becoming respectable and responsible members of the community who are willing to pass on knowledge & skills to other group members and the wider community.
Our project will seek to:
- Develop father friendly services across Nottingham
- Develop services that are inclusive of the needs of African Caribbean & Dual heritage communities
- Increase the involvement of fathers from African Caribbean & Dual Heritage communities within their families
- Increase the support families from African Caribbean & Dual Heritage communities receive by working with other agencies to target those who are considered hard to reach
- Assist parents whose children are involved in school exclusions and under achievement
- Improve the support to families with children with emotional and behavioural issues, through the provision of BME psychological support
- Support the work of 'Nottingham Black Families in Education Parents Support Group' (who provide advocacy work for families relating to education).
