The project will aim to improve and increase the support available to parents of children diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder. The programme will offer parents the opportunity to develop their understanding of the condition and to learn new strategies to help their child. The project will focus upon the Parenting Fund Objectives with specific targeted delivery facilitated by Multi agency Partnership work. Partners include the NHS, The National Autistic Society, Nottinghamshire County and City Councils, The Parent Partnership and Connexions, Parents will take part in various workshop and courses in different locations across the city of Nottingham. Up to 50% of the workshops will focus on reaching BME families, Fathers and Couple parenting to increase capacity and skills for these harder to reach groups. It is expected that the project will reach at least 200 parents.
