We are using our Round 2 grant to continue and build on the work of the Steps Forward Mentoring Project. The project already supports fathers and lone parents and will now expand to include mentoring for couples on parenting issues.

In addition we are providing group work sessions for young parents. These will offer peer support, social networking, parenting skills and opportunities to share experiences and celebrate their parenting achievements.

We plan to work with young parents from the following three targets groups:

• Young parents from BME communities
• Young parents with special needs or who face barriers to learning, or who have children with special needs or who face barriers to learning
• Young parents who have emotional/mental health needs
