Our Parenting Fund grant is being used to add outreach support for substance misusing families with children under five to Children's Centre development work that we are already doing in North East Lincs. Specifically it will provide:
- 3 Child and Family Support workers (CFSW) working across four Children's Centres
- 0.5 Special Health visitor for substance misuse
Through our work substance misusing parents will be encouraged to develop their skills on:
- the physical and emotional care of the children
- behaviour management
- safety and domestic violence
We want to help these families engage with mainstream services, such as Children's centres, health services, day care and early education and encourage the parents to engage with drug and alcohol programmes. The Specialist Health Visitor will develop, manage and coordinate the service.
