Our project will provide support to parenting organisations (not parents) to help them become more effective in their social inclusion work. We will do this by developing the Every Parent Matters Network (EPMN). Its aim is to empower parents, and those that support parents, to access information and support, to build on best practice and share knowledge, skills and experience across the city.
This means we want to:
- Build the capacity of parenting groups and improve delivery to parents and children
- Identify existing provision, expertise, gaps, solutions
- Provide information in relevant and accessible formats for diverse community needs
- Build and strengthen the service provider network
- Celebrate best practice and disseminate learning
- Develop a one stop shop for parenting needs.
We are doing this by:
- Developing a programme of network support
- Developing a programme of communication support
- Developing a website
- Providing conferences, seminars and events
- Developing an equipment library to loan equipment to groups e.g. audio visual etc
- Providing resource for groups to translate important information into other formats e.g. other languages, BSL or formats for sight impaired
- Providing access audits to parenting groups
