The Parenting Fund project provides opportunities for fathers and sons to come together, to promote dialogue and discussion between them to improve relations that have been strained by migration, living in a different culture/country and cross generational differences. It targets African and Muslim fathers and sons in Liverpool, including those who are refugees or asylum seekers. The project will directly benefit at least 90 fathers and sons and their families. It will achieve this through events aimed at bringing fathers and sons together and through one to one and group work. We are reaching beneficiaries through strong links that we have established with many Asian and African communities. We also have strong working relationships with organisations that address the needs of asylum seeker and refugee children and their families. Partnerships for delivering the project include: Building Bridges, MAAN (Somali Healthy Mind Project), Pakistani Community Centre, Have Project, Refugee Action.
