Funding round
Our Round 2 grant will enable us to undertake the following development work:
- Group work with young people at risk of educational exclusion, anti social behavior, crime and substance misuse and their parents. A disproportionate number of young people with ADHD are in these categories. We will help them understand ADHD, improve their mental and emotional health, address impulsivity (which can lead to high risk behaviors), help them learn social skills, experience success and access mainstream activities and become involved in citizenship programs.
- Accessible Drop in targeting fathers and families where English is a second language. Our premises are based in a multi ethnic community, adjacent to local schools and agencies.
- Volunteers' programme capitalizing on desire of parents and young people to make a positive contribution. From this they can access an accreditation scheme that will equip them to deliver services to new beneficiaries and learn skills that will help them to get a job.
- Training packages for professionals developed and delivered with parents and young people. We will target parents who have not accessed our service before, for example fathers or parents who have English as a second language.
