Home-Start Stoke on Trent is using its grant to reach a greater number of families with one child or more under 5years who are experiencing disadvantage, isolation and stress. Our focus is on families with complex needs such as domestic violence; child neglect/abuse; drug/alcohol misuse and severe mental health issues. We will be working in partnership with the newly emerging children centres and extended schools so that the families we support get the full benefit of these new services. Our service users will be provided with a longer term, tailored and flexible support package. Below are some examples of what will be on offer through referrals and partnerships:
- Home visiting volunteers
- Family support workers capable of responding rapidly to complex needs
- Family learning and support groups aimed at building skills, knowledge and self esteem.
