In Round 2 the project is organising family/volunteer coordinators to work with a team of volunteers. Home visits will be made to a number of families usually once a week for between 2 - 3 hours. We are working closely with BME organistions and Refugee communities in the north of the borough who are helping us to recruit volunteers with a knowledge of language and culture relevant to the communities we are working in.
We are also providing Family Support Work for families with complex needs particularly where parenting issues are a concern or where children are on the Child Protection Register. Alternatively they may be families with disruptive teenagers and a child under 5. Much of this involves close working with Social Services.
In addition we are taking on development work as we need to recruit additional reliable, committed, good quality volunteers. This involves promoting the service, giving talks to prospective volunteers and recruiting, training and supervising volunteers.
