For our Round 2 project our aims are twofold:
(1) Strengthening and building the capacity of voluntary parenting organisations to build capacity through:
- Group work with voluntary parenting organisations
- Bespoke workshops for parenting groups covering quality assurance, monitoring, governance, financial management etc.
- Action learning facilitated sets for staff covering management of complex practice issues etc.
(2) Developing the local parenting support strategy within the voluntary sector through:
- 12 bi-monthly network meetings for at least 20 voluntary sector providers
- 24 monthly mailings for 60 groups covering strategic, fund & policy
- Widen NOS
- Training 10 local facilitators to provide 'on tap' sessions for local parenting groups
- Integrating dialogue through the Children's Trust.
- Develop and improve information on parenting support services available in the area.
- Engage local groups in the local multi agency Workforce Development Strategy through financial support.
- Provide targeted bursaries for parenting workers to improve the level of skills in the borough.
