In Round 1 we began the expansion of On Track beyond the confines of the original three participating schools by offering a range of parenting programmes to the wider west Thamesmead community and we piloted programmes at Eltham Green, Greenwich's full service extended school. The four schools not served by On Track are very keen to participate as they have high levels of unmet need. In Round 2 we are expanding our work by removing existing 'qualification' barriers, providing open-access programmes, direct casework and school attendance provision to the whole of West Thamesmead and to build on our experience in delivering secondary transition and teenage-focused programmes to parents.
We are now offering places on our programmes to parents on Parenting Orders or with children made subject to Anti Social Behaviour Orders. We will support our schools in seeking Parenting Orders by working, with others, to provide services to those families.
On Track's existing partnership with Granville Consultancy counselling services will be enhanced to meet increased demand, particularly for couple and adult relationship work.
We will continue to identify and support interested parents to become parent champions to develop activities in schools, sport and activity volunteers, group work facilitators, and to increase our family support volunteer base.
