Our Parenting Fund project is aimed at socially excluded and geographically remote families and individuals who are affected by Asperger syndrome. We aim to:

  • Boost parental self-esteem
  • Prevent family breakdown
  • Prevent mental health problems in both parents and children:
    • by providing early response support to requests for assistance
    • by advising on practical behavioural strategies
    • by providing hands on assistance with form filling
    • by signposting families to other agencies where appropriate and to work in partnership with other agencies
    • by setting up self help parent support groups in Norwich, North Norfolk and Great Yarmouth and running parent 'surgeries' in each area on a monthly basis
    • by producing regular quarterly newsletters to membership
    • by providing information on our website and Asperger syndrome awareness training to local agencies, e.g. Police Community Support officers to prevent youngsters becoming offenders
