In Round Two we will extend the Positive Parenting project in Croydon. It aims to improve parents' ability to support their children by organising:
- Monthly Support groups: opportunities for mutual support, exchange of information and ideas on parenting. We will use different venues borough wide and target up to 20 participants monthly.
- Telephone Helpline: AFSS will continue with the helpline to provide quick response, offer support, advice and information, sign posting, targeting 15 parents per week.
- Just for Fathers: a fathers only group targeting fathers via outreach work and one to one support.
- Contact Point: to provide mediation for separated parents and those at risk of separation.
- Peer support & mentoring: run quarterly events bringing parents and their children to discuss issues of concern in an open forum. Some forums will be used as information events with input from professionals.
- Publications: We will publish a book to share findings and good practice and to disseminate outcomes. This will be distributed in print, through website and discussed on our Radio programme for others to use. It will include case studies.
