Every Parent Matters
Alan Johnson, Secretary of State for Education has published Every Parent Matters which sets out the Government's view on the role of parents in improving their child's life chances and educational attainment and how the Government can best help them achieve this.
Conservative Party review of childhood launched
David Cameron has announced that he is setting up a Children's Taskforce to look at how the lives of children in Britain can be improved. The taskforce will be led by Shadow Education Secretary David Willetts, and be advised by a group of independent experts.

The summary of responses to the Governments consultation on improving transparency and privacy in family courts was published 22 March 2007. A young people's guide has also been published.

HM Treasury - Policy review of children and young people
Aiming high for children: supporting families' published last month, is the final document from the Children and Young People Treasury policy review covering two strands of the review: prevention and 'families caught in a cycle of low achievement'
Spring 2007: Two further sub-reviews to be published, on support for families with disabled children and a ten year strategy for youth services.

This consultation invites comments on the Department for Education and Skills' plans to introduce a new post-16 measure of progression to give recognition to schools in securing effective transition for each of their pupils to appropriate post-16 learning in order to maximise their attainment by 19.
